Hello,
I have some old Sharp speakers that Iw ould like ot set up as my secondary monitor system. However, the speaker wires are built into the back of the speakers. This isn't a problem; the wires are in fine condition, but I have some really nice 10 gauge Monster wire that I would like to use instead, so that all my monitors have the same quality wires. How would I go about replacing those wires?

It's likely that you'll have to take the cabinet apart.

Okay... so what exactly is involved with that? Am I to saw off the back, because there are no screws holding the thing together; looks like it's all glued...

Youre gonna need to get crafty and hope your carpentry skills are up to snuff .

Good luck!

What you want to do is mount proper terminals on the speaker, like these:

Once you drill the hole for the terminal, you should be able to rewire the speaker to the terminal easily, and use any interconnect wire you want.
