Actually, the question is about making the master fader inactive. If you've got 2 or 3 plugins on the master fader, no matter what program you're using, does this affect the new track's sync with playback?

Some plugins by there nature cause a delay... but... your issue is unclear. "new track's sync with playback"? What new track? Your gonna have to be more specific...

You can't make your master inactive - you wouldn't have any sound coming through! By definition, all your tracks are sent to the Master, unless you route them to a bus first (then that goes to the master).
