I have a 1010lt and a Dmp3. Im trying to figure out the best way to hook them up. As you already know the 1010lt has 6 rca I/O which are unbalanced and 2 Xlr I/O which are balanced. First, would I gain better sound quality hooking my Pre into the Xlr do 2 the fact they are balanced. If so there jumpers that need 2 be set. Correct me if im wrong but there for line level signals. Now If im hooking up my DMP3 with the XLR's Im going to have to set the jumpers to the lowest line level becuase Im getting my levels from the Pre. I think it comes set up ready to hookup a mic direct in to the card. So would this mean that this is a pre on the card. If that is the case changing the level of it is not going to bi pass it so that would mean I have 2 pre running. RIght? Would that take away from the sound quality and in the end I should end up using the RCA unbalanced. Does anyone know what i should set the jumpers at.

I'd just keep it simple and use the card's pres on the 2 xlr inputs and hook your dmp3 up to one of the rcas

Yeah i could do that but I think recording on the balanced I/O would yeild a better sound right? Also im sure the pre on the card is not as good as the dmp3?

If you set the jumper to accept Live level, then it kindly turns off the onboard pe-amp. IOW, it bypasses the Mic preamp. You can also set the input gain on Delta Control Panel.

Mic -->DMP3-->XLR balanced--> Delta input 1&2 XLR balanced, set to line level using jumper.

Give it a try... :)
