Hello,
What's up! My question regarding headphones would be..how do i make it where i can hear myself singing in the headphones? i hear the beat...but i don't hear myself..at first when i hooked my gear up..i did..but don't know what i did wrong in the process...so i would appreciate anyone's help as to how to get me back to hearing..myself sing..along with the beat in the headphones(the mic still records my voice when i hit record with my software..i just can't hear myself in my headphones singing, hope i hadn't confused anyone)! thanks, be blessed!

Try using only one side of the headphones leaving the other ear uncovered. Then turn down the tracks in the headphone mix.

there are many places in the signal path where things can go wrong and prevent you from hearing yourself.

if you were once able to hear yourself and now can't, here are some things you can try (assuming you are using a PC-based system).

open the 'open volume controls' on loudspeaker icon on on start bar (assuming it's there), click on 'options', click on 'properties'. This allows you to adjust volumes for 'playback', 'recording' and 'other'. In 'other', with luck you will see monitor options. Click on these and make sure all the levels are up.

Other than that, without knowing much about the system you are using, it is difficult to suggest solutions

I've done this using the balance knob to further combat any signal bleed...

hey thanks all for responding..sorry i wasnt more specific but yeah I am using a pc-based system..with a berhinger mixer..nady condenser mic 900 series..v600 sony headphones..and i had no luck with finding monitors in the volume control properties..i did see headphones and microphone and they were turned all the way up...so..i don't know!!! thanks for the response anyways!

if you cant hear your vocals in your headphones are you able to monitor anything else when you are setting sounds? depending on your soundcard, like in my motu 828 console there is a fader for each incoming track as well as a mute and pan so you can set levels for all that you are hearing. meaning you can boost the vocals or pan everything but vocals in the right and vocals in the left.

What software? You probably just need to enable direct monitoring on your recording input channel within the software.

i can just hear through the monitors..i can hear myself a little bit now in the headphones..but not as loud as i would like to hear myself..my sound card probaly suck since the cpu ain't brand new period..i think its a crystalware (sound fusion)...something of that nature!
