So I really want to get the Goldtone GA-5.

One problem. The stock speaker is connected with an RCA jack.

So is it safe to use a run-of-the-mill RCA -> 1/4" connector even when dealing with speaker loads?

not that this has anything to do with anything......i'm just interested......what are you planning to connect it to?

You would be best off making one. The rca to 1/4 that you get at radio shack will be shielded.

A 1 12" cab. Possible an alnico speaker. Maybe a Weber...maybe a Jenson...I don't know. But I would like the option. PLus their speaker is only 8".

So no shielded. Okay.

Anyone else have a view point on this?

It just dawned on me, they have an all metal one piece adapter that would work. You just need to stay away from the rca to 1/4 cables for this application.

What about this:
http://www.monstercable.com/pro_audio/custom_cables.asp

It says Monster Cable will custom make any cable.

"Monster will custom terminate any of our pro cables except the ILS200 and ILS100 fiber optic products. All authorized Monster professional audio dealers are capable of placing a custom cable order for you. Many variations are possible (i.e. A Performer 500 microphone cable can be terminated with Neutrik TRS connectors, RCA's can be terminated with most reasonable types of configurations). Please contact your local Pro-MI Monster Cable dealer to place a custom cable order."

The price will be Monster, as well.

I'm with Farview. As long as it's not shielded, no problems with a cable. That means home-made. For a tiny amp like this, I'd think any 1/4 -rca adapter would do.

Either wire your own RCA jack, or get a simple RCA->1/4 adaptor. Either approach should work.

This is what I was talking about, Radio shack has one that is all metal, but this will work. Getting monster to make a cable for you is silly, get the adapter and a speaker cable. That way, if either one stops working, you can replace it easily, instead of ordering another cable from monster. I would assume you have a speaker cable lying around, one of these adapters has to be at a store withing 20 minutes of your house. You could be up and running in an hour.
