When you have a drop out do you pretty much just have to close it and restart the program? It tells me there's a dropout and then freezes. I'm assuming that you just have to ctrl-alt-dlt it and close the program, right?

I just hit the "Run/Stop Audio Engine" button and then hit it again to reset everything.

A dropout shouldn't cause the program to freeze. You should just be able to hit the play button and start it again.
If the program is literally freezing up on you, you have ctrl-alt-del to get out of it, you have more serious problems.
You might want to try uninstalling and reinstalling the program. Maybe also see if there are updated drivers for you sound card.
Give us a little more info. What Cakewalk prog, what OS, what sound card, computer specs, etc.

I used to get this error with Sonar 2.0.
Upgrading my sound card driver, deleting my AUD.INI file and re-profiling the sound card fixed the problem.

It's not too big of a deal. I've only had two drop outs ever. But yeah, if it shouldn't be freezing completely then it could be a problem. I have the latest 1010 drivers. I haven't tried the shutting off the audio engine thing.

There's no need to shut off the audio engine. It shuts off when you have a drop-out. What Brzilian meant was when that happens you should just need to start it again.ChristopherDawn said:
I would try what Qwerty suggested. Delete the Sonar aud.ini file. When Sonar starts again it will reprofile your sound card and write a new aud.ini file.
You will lose any customization you have done in Sonar, and will have to reset everything (default directories, etc.).
You say it's only happened twice. Over what time period? If you are talking about twice in a year or so, I would probably just forget it. Just remember to save your work often.
