sup guys,

Is there any difference in digital inputs on different brand soundcards?

Since you have no converters, and no preamps i figured they wouldnt be any different, but i need to know for sure before making up my mind.

Say $99 MAudio Audiophile 2496 VS LynxTwo C PCI Audio Interface

Remember all digital :D no matter the in/out count

Thanks peeps.

Crap just realised its in the wrong section :mad:and i cant delete it

In theory, if the signal is digital, you should be fine.

Just beware of certain interfaces - I don't even know the names (not M-Audio), but I've actually seen systems with digital I/O that do some pretty goofy stuff with the audio including (VERY poorly) resampling and processing. I would think that's rare, but just something to be aware of.

Did I miss the part where you said what type of digital interface you're talking about? I guess we're talking about S/PDIF, but I just want to be sure you understand that their are other digital interface types. The Lynx card has both S/PDIF and AES/EBU. I think the Audiophile is just S/PDIF. Also, there is pro and consumer S/PDIF, though hardware wise they're compatable. The sw console for the interface will have a DI/O setup section.
