hi i have cubase 2.0 sx on my computer and have been recording for while but i was just wondering..............when i record i get a very very faint airy noise........its not super noticeable but you can hear it if you are paying attention.....i was just wondering if anyone new what this was caused from??or does anyone else here get that noise ever??i am using a new dell demension 4600 and i do not know what kind of sound card is in it......do you think the noise is from the sound card???or some kind of power chord or the computer fan itself?? thank you

also......is there maybe an effect that i could use to get rid of the noise?

Are you using more than 1 mic?

Maybe you're having phase issues

Tyler 22,

Could be many reasons for the "noise" you describe.

I use Cool Edit/ Adobe Audition but I'm sure Cubase will have a noise reduction effect/tool. Check your effects, if you find it, it should perform pretty much like mine, that is, you isolate a section of the waveform that has just the "noise" you are referring to. You'll usually find these spots before or after the music starts. With my software you just highlight and sample a small segement of the "noise" and copy it to your clipboard then apply that noise profile to the whole wavefile.

Read your help file on noise reduction.
