Question about a Fostex A-8

I have a bunch of 1/4 tapes that were recorded on an A-8. The one that recorded 4 tracks at a time. I need to transfer to preserve them. Will a fostex m80 or a Fostex R8 allow me to transfer/mixdown? Anyone have an A-8 for sale cheap????

It'll play back fine on the R8 but I don't know about the M80 (is it 1/4" or 1/2"?). (The A8 can only record up to 4 tracks at a time but it can play back all 8, as can the R8). Both run same bias, same speed (15 ips).

Someone else is considering an A8 here so if they don't want it you might check it out.
