quantizing on sonar 4

i'm programming a beat @ 95 bpm. quantizing it makes it stuttery. i usually just go around that problem by doing a long take of the beat, and selecting the best part of the recording. but quantizing is an absolute science, so i don't get why sonar is making my almost perfect timing even worse. i guess i can just go with my un-quantized recording, but any suggestions as to how i can quantize properly? also, i can NEVER get sonar to quantize a 3/4 beat properly (and i do change the meter to 3/4).

I havn't had problems with quantizing, so not sure I can help. The key factor (to me) in quantizing is to select the correct resolution..... also make sure what you want quantized is select in the quantize window.... data start, length etc. As a tip, you can (in piano roll view) just select one note (if you are quantizing percussion tracks or beats) and quantize that. Not sure exactly what is going wrong with you efforts though. Good luck sorting it out.
