Line6 made the Bass Pod for recording! Is it Noisy? That's a matter of opinion and how particular one is to the sound quality. If you record with good levels and use quality cables, I'd offer that the noise is low, but not professional studio quality. Your guitar/bass pickups also make a difference as well as interference from CRT monitors... which is one reason I switched to a flat panel LCD. Basically, you get what you hear on input monitoring.
I use the bass Pod and Podxt for guitar regularly. For home recording, they are great tools and I highly recommend them both.
