Q about reverb/stereo imaging

I'm having trouble figuring out why my reverb'ed tracks don't sound right. I'm trying different techniques to spread the reverb over the stereo space, but not sure what the rules of thumb are for that, ie. what techniques sounds like what.

As for stereo spacing, as I understand it, there are two ways to make a track "sound" like it's in a particular place from left to right: a) making one channel louder, and b) phase shifting it so that it happens in one channel before the other.

What other things can I do to make tracks sound like they are in a particular placement, and what are the basics for stereo placement? Does anyone have/know of a good FAQ on reverb/stereo imaging?

Thanks in advance.

(And is there a search function on this forum, so I don't have to ask beaten-to-death questions all the time?)

Hit "Ctrl-F", type in the word "Search", click "Find Next". Your browser will search for the search. :)

Otherwise, I still have the same question as you. Can't help.
