Have a question re recording from the PV14 (older non-USB version). I have been using the Tape Out to record to a Zoom H2 digital recorder. For some reason I appear to be getting the monitor mix and not the mix from the mains as you would expect. I reviewed the manual (not terribly helpful) and the wiring diagram and it certainly appears that the tape outs get their signal from the main bus but that is not what I am getting in the recording. The H2 is strictly a 2 channel feed so there is on discrete channel control or eq that would cause this.

Any thoughts or similar experiences?

Thanks

I have one of those ..... the tape outs should come from the main.

Why are you sure you're getting the monitor instead?

And why don't you simply use the main outs if that's what you want?

good point. I will check that for next gig. Would that affect the tape out mix? Thanks

That what I understood as well. I am not positive I am getting the monitor other than - I do know it is not the same mix as is going to my main speakers and it seems to be the same as the adjustments that I make to my monitor mix (e.g. I have our sax mike turned down in the monitor and I get very low sax levels in the recording, same for the bass - in that case I had it up in the monitor and it came through quite high on the recording. The recording seems to mimic the the monitor settings.

I am typically doing the recording during live gigs where we are using the mixer as the main board so the mains are occupied with the speaker signals.
Thanks for your thoughts
