How do I save a project I record in Cubase to a CD? So that I can delete it from my pc's HD but load it up in the future.. When I try to do it I get a message that it's a read only file.

The files on a CD are Read-Only. When you reload the project file(s) back to your hard disk, just uncheck the Read-Only flag from Windows Explorer. You'll probably just have to do this on any peak files and the actual project file, not the individual wave files.

If you were on Unix/Linux, you could just "chmod u+w *" from an xterm :)

You probably have to save it as "data" and not "audio". I'm not that familliar with Cubase, but that's what I do when I backup projects (sessions) in Adobe Audition. Then, as gordone mentioned above, uncheck "read only" when you reload.

Windows XP I am computer illiterate....where do I find that "flag"?

In doing so, will the project come back as I left it so that I may carry it from the studio to my home pc?

I will also try this. Thanks to all.......where's the BEER icon?

When (after) you copy the folder back to your computer, right-click on the folder, click "properties" and uncheck "read only"... it will probably ask you if you want all sub files and folders to not be "read only" as well, check "yes".
