If you have a midi track you are sure your going to keep can you do somthing to make the midi data into wav format so you can use effects and dynamics ect?

There has to be a way right?

Thanks guys

When you utilize MIDI within Cubase it writes a track that is the MIDI information... AND, if you go to your mixer (hit "M" on your keyboard if you have your default hotkeys within Cubase) then you will see a track for the VSTi that you route said MIDI track to. The VSTi track is where you will do all the editing to volume, pan, etc. (in addition to adding effects), to where it will actually make any kind of impact on the sound that you hear.

Unless someone knows any different...:D

you can also use instrument tracks which are handy because they contain all your midi data but can have audio effects and what not added, sort of a best of both worlds type of deal.

how do I use instrument tracks for my midi? this sounds intriguing.

When you use a MIDI track you run it through a VSTi... This "creates" an instrument track that is the result of feeding the MIDI data through the VSTi. MIDI is only data, not audio...

If you truly need a raw wav form, solo your track, and export it as a wav file and select the option to import the new file into the project at the point of origin. This will give you an actual audio file to work with, but will take away your midi options at that point. Using a vsti channel is by far the best option for most processing in my opinion.
