not to highjack this thread but could you take a listen to this drum sequence I made for a song i'm working on. This is without really any post processing.

how does it sound? Is it convincing? Does it sound good? How are the samples? I have other samples that probably sound more real because they are actually sampled from a real drumkit but I really liked the ones used here.

I think it sound fine dude!!!

What you and I and allot fo other "newbie" home recording people are forgeting is that 99% of the people listening to you music will never know if was a drum machine or that it does not sound human. The advice I get in this and other forums helps me tremendously but when I want a good comment on a song I have just recorded I post in a Metal or Death Metal forum to get feedback. When I do that I almost never get comments about the drums not sounding human, your general death/black metal fans don't care how or where it was recorded as long as it sounds good.

Thanks guys.

I'll just be adding little bits to this every couple days probably. If anybody has any feedback on where it should go from here, or if I should change something, let me know.

Well, thought I'd contribute something on the 1:05+ part. I haven't done death metal vocals or vocals in general in awhile, so apologies when they're off time or just plain bad.

Here are the lyrics, made super Satanish for your pleasure:
Entrenched in blood
Your flesh decaying
Fresh entrails for the taking
The feast begins
Peel off your skin
Invocation of Analegh (I made that up!)
Lucifer's hatred so vile!

Hey timthetortoise, I am going to have to steel a bit of your lyrics and the flow to the voclas you did over my riff. That sounds great and I love the slow. I hope you don't mind me steeling it from you...LOL

Peter

Sure, but only if you play a show in Charlotte.

Er, just noticed it's a one-man band. Sucks! I'd pay to see these songs played live.

Cool, I will post it when I have it done. I am going to steel the first two lines in the lyrics you wrote and how it was sung. Thanks my metal brother!!!

damn, for a second I read it as "cat vocals" and I was totally willing to lay some down.
