Hey guys,

I've been away for awhile actually not "away" but just damn busy. I'm finally spending some quality time using the knowledge that I've gained visiting Home Recording.

Anywho! I've never used the punch-in function in N-Track. Would someone take the time to tell me how to best accomplish this? It seemed like it was taking me a long time to just find and set the starting point.

Also realated, I think, to that topic ( I know I should read the manual) but is there a way to start playback at any give point in the song? I haven't figured that one out either.

Thanks,
Rusty K

Well, one thing you should do is take a long time to find and set the starting point!!! Seriously, you want to be precise, so zoom in and make sure your starting at a good place.

The instructions are pretty good for punching in. Go back and follow them.

You can click and drag the the little bar on top to put the timeline at any given point.

Hope this helps

Also can punch on the fly.During playback just hit record and your armed track will record. If sample-level precision is needed,do as Larry suggests and program the punch.
And read the manual! The help file is good but you should download the .pdf mauual on the download page.

Thanks guys,

I just needed to open my eyes. It's amazing that I've been recording with N-track as long as I have without noticing these features. It's just that I usually try to avoid punching in and so had never figured it out.

This is definately a user friendly software if it let's one get around without having full knowledge of it's functionality.

Thanks again,
Rusty K

Click on the timeline at any point to start playback there.
