Punch in pedal with Tascam Porta 01/02

Hi,

Does anyone know if it is possible to use a Punch in/out pedal with a Tascam Portastudio 01/02 at all?

It's been a really long time - but if my memory serves me correctly... you cannot punch in with either the porta 1 or porta 2.
