Pumping my music on virtual instrument tracks - how do i print it to audio?

Hi!

I have this track now in Pro Tools where i am pumping all of the music to the kick-drum, and i need some help on this subject.
The thing is, i eventually need to print all of my music-tracks (synths, bass, piano etc.) to audio to clear up some CPU-space.
I now currently have all my music-tracks on instrument-tracks in Pro Tools. And on these instrument-tracks i have the compressor that is pumping the track to the kick (all the drums are in Audio).

But what do i do when i want to print my instrument tracks to audio? Here is what i thought i might do step by step, and please comment on this if you can:

1. Create an Audio track

2. Drag the compressor and EQ from the instrument-track over to the audio track

3. Bus the instrument-track to the audio track, and print it.

Wouldn´t this give me the best control over the track after i print it, or will the audio-track be different if i do it like this?
Shouldn´t it work as long as the compressor is the same as it was on the instrument track?

It´s just pumping Audio now instead of MIDI but that shouldn´t matter - right?
