Protools Le 003

A few months ago i bought the Digidesign 003 and its a great board. But, it only has eight inputs. Im starting to record more and more bands and the preferred way to record is live with everyone. Is there a bigger board that is compatible with Le?

Your 003 has 18 inputs.

I think what you mean is that it only has 8 analogue inputs. Consider buying an 8 channel pre-amp/A-D converter such as the focusrite octopre, or behringer ada8000 or similar. This would then connect to your 003 via ADAT optical connection.
 
I use an Alesis ADAT and a mackie 16 channel mixer to connect to my 002 via optical connection. Before I bought the 002 I already had that stuff so the 002 was a great fit because it expanded on what I already had.

I also bought a RNP so I have 4 preamps on the 002, 2 preamps on the RNP, and 8 on mackie/ADAT so I can handle up to 14 mic inputs. I'll probably add another 2 channel Pre at some point for 16.

I haven't seen too many pres that have Spidf output. Can anyone recommend one?
 
The Digimax LT is also nice. I recently scored one for $270 (incl shipping) on Craigslist.. 8 nice preamps and output through ADAT/lightpipe to your 003 (in my case--002).

There's also a 20db pad and 48v switch for every input. Solid unit.
