I know this is not an ideal computer by any means for recording, but right now I currently have a HP ProBook 4320s with i3 CPU @ 2.53 GHz with upgraded RAM to 8 Gigs on 64 bit Windows 7 Professional ed.

-Will this system function effectively with Protools 10 or do you guys think it will lag and not preform seamlessly?

-Would Cubase 6 be a better option for this computer?

Thank you for all and any advise given,
G.P.

I realize that maybe Pro Tools 10 is relatively new. So if you feel knowledgeable about Pro Tools 9 and computer recording, please feel free to respond in reference to those. Thanks.

Hi there,

Sorry, I can't give you a direct answer, but Avid are one of the few manufacturers who provide a list of qualified machines for their software.
(At least they used to; I haven't checked lately.)

Check on avid.com to see if there's a list and if your machine is qualified.

If it isn't on the list, that doesn't necessarily mean your machine won't work, but I'm pretty it means Avid haven't tested it and won't offer support for it.
