I don't know if many people use this but I have Reason installed and the damn thing just won't work.

It loads up and says Rewire could not run. Then she just closes on me.

I also have Cubase 5.1. I don't know if thats a contributing factor.

Grateful if anyone could help me out here

v frustrated!

Sorry, I think I've come across the same problem when I used VST and Reason together, quite a while back, figured it out with some kind of step-by-step helpfile but I can't remember where I found it.
I'll let you know when I know more but no promises.
If it really is the same thing that I encountered, it's in the software, not the hardware.

Cheers,

Yeah, I reckon there's some sort of conflict arising between Cubase & Reason; just can't figure out what and how to fix!

I think I had this problem in the past, and from what I remember it was a duplicate rewire.dll or rewire2.dll in c:\windows\system32 folder . I renamed it and all was well.

yup it is a rewire thing i think too. i know that it is addressed on the reason webpage as well.

Yay!

Got it sussed. Finally working Reason, now just have to figure out how to work it!

Unfortunately the solutions vary a little where I have seen them.

For anyone who might want to know its because when you install Reason it does not replace rewire.dll and rex.dll if they are already in your windows folder (e.g. if you have Cubase installed).

Therefore the versions of these files are not the most up to date ones.

In order to solve I've deleted both files and run the Reason installation - repair which put in the correct versions

thanks for the input

Sorted!

Yup, that sounds like the problem that I had as well. Good to hear it's sorted out.
