I mixdown my project to mp3, it still sounds beautiful and clean. But after i burn it and play it in numerous stereo's it has a muffled/bass tone to it...whats up with that??

Why on earth would you mix-down to MP3...
...if you can burn CDs????????????????????
This makes no sense, you are losing SO MUCH signal going to MP3 as a mixdown device.... you'd almost be better off mixing down to cassette....
This may be your whole trouble, but from what you describe I think there's more to it. Sounds like you haven't learned to translate your mixes yet - what kind of monitoring system do you have? What's the recording setup? More details please...

If you mixdown to a wave first, you will have more finalising options. Going straight from your file to an mp3 eliminates any of that.
