I posted this link two weeks ago for the: PreMastered Version so that a comparison could be made w/ the mastered version.

It was professionally mastered by Massive Mastering.

John blew me away w/ the job he did. It can't sound better than it does ... plain 'ol awesome.

At the rock bottom selling price of absolutely free, it makes a wonderful holiday gift for everyone on your list!!! :D

Here's the three step path to download:

1) Visit: Register at Kev's
2) Do the quick/easy sign up: It's free and I neither market nor spam. I hate that stuff.
3) Log in: A new "Member's Menu" will appear w/ a "free album download link"

DONE!

btw ... I do the "Site Member" thing to construct a slight wall between real people and those pesky web bots.

Help yourself, and looking forward to seeing folks at the site!

Best,

Kev-

The Lt. is correct (as usual) ... and sign up is simple. Don't be lazy to your detriment, though ... We're talking a couple simple finger movements, no heavy lifting involved ... and you don't even need to comment. These songs have already been commented on to death, right here in these hallowed halls. :D

The album now is approaching 200 downloads (in roughly 2 days), and the response has been nothing short of heartwarming. They like it, they really like!!! :D

I sent similar notice to a couple of my son's friends (mid 20's) and things sort of took off slightly viral from there. They are accounting for the largest block of distribution so far ... and it's keeping steady.

I'm very content w/ this one. It's the first release where confidence in my knowlege of craft combined w/ my creative inspiration and I was able to execute whatever weirdness my brain concocted ... which accounts for some of the album's prog-oddity.

I hope you do d/l it zazz, but I won't be offended if you don't. :)

Best,

Kev-

btw ... the Premastered Version above is a one-click option if you want to just give a listen to the original mixes ... or you could click the link in my signature and listen to the mastered version right from the front page. That's pretty easy too. The mastered version is MUCH improved. John's mastering job was sublime, "take it to the next level" treatment.

You didn't mention "wait for the comnfirmation email message". As a result I became a bit flustered but am just about to finish the download - thanks!
Listening now - big sound. Nice & clear.

Because I didn't remember, bud. I'm sorry. My wife doesn't remember our home phone number because she never calls it. Same sort of thing.

Happy you figured it out ... I didn't recall that step. I should let folks know there is a verification piece.

I should have remembered ...

Thanks Ray!

Gee, Kev, if you're gonna offer it for free, get it right, okay? :;)

Just a heads up ... there's a new link that allows download of the individual tracks ... versus the one continguous stream ...

We now return you to your regular programming.

:D

tried to register 3 times, 3 times I get an error message, Kinda feel like I'm missing out now. I always post one click links. :(

No worries. I'm in w/ the owner of the dump, and can easily straighten things out. ;)

Check your PM.

took so long to get in I forgot what song I was supposed to be listening too. See it now is there a before and after wav file ir is it crapy mp3s?

Did you have a problem signing in?

No songs to critique ... like I said, already done prior to sending them off.

... but if you want to do a before/after mastering comparison, you can download the above package that contains the pre-mastered versions on the link in the opening post, and then download the mastered package of individual tracks or full album stream via the site.

Yes, they are all MP3s ... which allows ease of download for slower connections. Still, even at that level, the sonic differences are marked and clear.

Hey Kev,

Just wanted to say thanks for providing this before and after... Mastering is a mysterious process to many (myself included) and this gives a good reference with which to judge what a good master can do for your recording.
I've only listened to the first few minutes of the recording (for A/B purposes) but I will listen to the whole thing (I downloaded the full ALBUM). So far... A pretty clean recording. I know it's early but something tells me I'm really going to enjoy your musical brain...
I'll let you know, bud.

Excellent, and thanks for mentioning that!

Mastering is "next" level voodoo ... the final coat of polish that takes the source material and enables it to translate well anywhere ... which is why I posted the a/b. It's important to hear what it does when an expert takes it up a notch. There's a difference between raw source and mastered.

If you think about it ... changing the eq on say a saxophone is going to change the sound of that one thing. Changing eq on the whole mix changes EVERYTHING ... so you'd better know what the heck you're doing.

Sounds good. Mastered version definately an improvement. Are you aware of what type of equipment was involved in the mastering process? Doesn't matter if you are happy with your results and they sound good, i am just curious what was all involved. Nice job.

My sole request was it be processed through analog equipment. I work exclusively in the box, so analog must be part of the chain prior to release. Mastering is where I want the addition of analog to happen. It matters that analog touches the process.
