Probs with PadKontrol Cubase

hi, back in the newb spot. I just got a padkontrol and i'm running it with the DFH program that it came with thru my laptop. I'm getting more than a second of latency. I cant figure out how to fix it. The internal sound card is called a conexant AMC audio. My laptop has 1.5 gigs of ram. I dunno how to go about fixing this. Any help would be much appreciated.

Lemme give some more info. I use cubase, and run DFH as a VST plug in. Thats where i get the latency. I've never used midi before. I dont know how to change latency settings. When i do figure it out, do i change my laptop, cubase, of DFH's settings??
