Problems with Sonar 4 and Firepod

I just installed Sonar 4 Studio and a Presonus Firepod. Everything individually installed fine...no problems. I also installed the Cubase LE that came with the Firepod.

The problem is I'm getting signal at the Firepod, but get none in Sonar. I do get signal in Cubase. My computer keeps telling me that the Firepod basically isn't there. Does anybody have any idea what I have setup wrong, or could help me with this?? It works in Cubase but not Sonar and I'm at my wits end. Thanks.

Have you run the hardware profiler in Sonar???

Try using ASIO drivers for the Firepod if available.

Hmm...I'm using the same combo without problems. I would definitely use the ASIO drivers if you aren't already. When you say your computer is telling you the Firepod isn't there - what exactly do you mean? What message (if any) are you getting? Is the Firepod just not showing up in the Sonar configuration?

I've run the profiler and it tells me that it's ok at 44mhz. I can select the channels in Sonar, but it gives no signal. There's signal at the Firepod, but none in Sonar. And recording doesn't even turn up a blank wave...it just does nothing. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Warble, could you tell me how you have yours setup?? Maybe I can find my problem that way.

In Sonar under Options > Audio > General tab, I'm using ASIO drivers. The playback and record timing master is "PreSonus ASIO Driver LineOut 1&2 left". You set the driver mode under the Advanced tab - set this to use ASIO. Under the Drivers tab, you should make sure each Input and Output driver is highlighted (except for the spdif - unless you are going to use that digital in and out).

If this is setup properly, you should be able to select whatever input you want to use on the tracks you want to record. I'm able to select, per track, a PreSonus ASIO Driver (5 in, 5 out). You'll see Left, Right and Stereo for each input.
