when in multi session i will 'save session as' then name it song1 or whatever .then I will open the session and some of the tracks have vanished and I have to start again.
I have cep 1.1.
the only way I have been able to totally avoid it is mix down before saving which I don't wanna do in case I need to change it.
has anyone had this problem.
I have logic and it does not do it in that:(

are you switching folders around and saving the mix in a different folder than originally?? if thats whats happening... click "save copies of all associated files" down in the corner of the "save as" dialoge box.

If its just a weird fluke... try clicking "Close session and Waveforms" It SHOULD promt you if you wanna save any unsaved files that you have changed or created... if it doesnt do that, then something else is going on...

xooxo

Peter, CEP 'tries' to save files to the wrong folder. After you click on Save and type in the name of your project and click on okay, CEP prompts you to save each track, right? But before you click on okay for those tracks, check the little window at the top of the dialog box which indicates where it's going to be saved - it's often a completely different folder, often the previous one you opened or worked on!

Dunno if this is helpful, but before I save anything, I create a folder for it (eg. 'Song 1') in Explorer. Then I make sure everything goes to that folder when I start clicking and saving in Cool Edit.

Last thought - I'd bet real money that those tracks that 'vanished' are lurking in another folder somewhere.

thanks dobro.I havn't given it a good go yet but I will during the week.I have noticed it wants me to save a hell of a lot. one thing is I have a feeling I'm over writing files even though I didn't think I was.

one other thing I have noticed is sometimes it says -can't load file filter ,or something along those lines .I'm sure this is a plugin it's talking about

thanks guys I think you solved the problem.I'll let you know how it goes
