Problems with Cubase LE4, help please?

I've just gone through the installation process for my Tascam 1641 interface. Everything is sweet apart from the very last part, entering my activation code on the E-LICENSER website, when i do this, it tells me either my network settings are incorrect or theres maintenance at the moment.

Just in case its neither of these two (or even if it is) i was wondering if anyone else has had this issue and if you can point me in the right direction. does anyone know who is best to get hold of? steinberg? tascam? my internet provider?

Make sure to download the latest Eliscenser here. Latest Downloads*-*elicenser.net

The one on your LE4 disk is old and wont work. If that don't do it I can help further.

I can't remember needing a new eLicense. I had LE4 CD's sitting around for literally years, since they gave away LE4 with just about everything I bought at the music store. Eventually I thought to put one on each computer in the house, and on my laptops. I know I could have probably used the same CD, but I am too scared to be dishonest.
Anyway, my hangup was licensing as well. I got error messages saying my date and time on my computer were wrong. Turned out I needed to synchronize my computer to Microsoft. Ignoring the flags that this was Bill Gates being Big Brother and latching onto my computer, I synchronized away, and now all CD's load perfectly in all computers and laptops. But as I say, I can't remember ever downloading a new eLicense.

You need the newest eLiscenser to register the 'first' time with Steinberg. I just went through that when upgrading to 5 then 6 recently. I had the same problem with the time/date bs.
