I just bought a used copy of this software...version 9 I think. Anyway, I have two ADATs and I would like to send the outputs of those into my computer via my soundcard (crappy HP computer). Anyway, I bust the signal down and into my computer and the signal into the computer sucks!!! The sound is so muted it isn't funny. Is this something I am doing wrong with the software? I have bought new cables and everything, so I don't know what the deal is. Any help out there?!?

Thanks,

Sound card

It is probably your sound card. Internal PC sound cards tend to be noisy. Also check the sampling rate settings.

I gotta agree with Mbest on both counts. I would, however, back up a few steps and experiment with just a mixer and your voice or axe, leave the adats out of the picture for the time being and become familiar with th CW environment.

I did exactly that, recording an acoustic guitar track from an ADAT into an audio track in Cakewalk. No problem, although I don't remember what my hookup was. I think I ran it straight out of the mixer and into the sound card (which by the way is a super-cheap SoundBlaster PCI 128). I think bball jones's suggestion was a good one. Just make sure your signal going in is as hot as you can get it without going into the red.
