There is a noticeably high latency issue im having with ACID. I got a simple setup with an audio interface with a mic. Every time decrease the playback buffering in preferences, everything seems fine and the lag disappears but my voice starts to distort and just gets works till its just pure distortion and then ACID crashes.

help please. is decreasing the playback buffering bad? i mean if it was, why would they leave us with the option to do so.

What latency settings are you using?
What Sample Rate are you using?
Desktop or Laptop?
What interface?

Make sure that you're not using Microsoft Sound Mapper as the default playback device in preferences.

ive tried using 2ms for latency and still crashes.
sample rate is 24bit/48khz

my mates behringer ufo202 audio interface. i think its a piece of crap. tried returning it but my local music store are a bunch of pricks.
can you recommend an audio interface. i want to record drums too.

That appears to be aimed at non-musician use, for converting vinyl, cassettes etc. to digital. I don't think there's a low latency monitoring feature. The signal is likely going through too many stages of buffering and storage before you hear back what you are playing.

If you have a small analog mixing board you could use it as your front end/monitoring setup and have no latency.
