We want to do this the right way. The rules say end of day July, 1st...That means at the end of today at 11:59:59 PM PST, the contest for this two week period is over.

Then, the new contest will start. If you are signed up, you will automatically find out who won, and you will be automatically notified to find out what the new contest prize will be.

All non winners are automatically signed up for the next contest. The winner of any contest is not eligible for 12 months.

So, if you sign up today, your still entered to win this one. The official announcement will be sent out in a few days as to who won.

So you all know, this contest was done in conjunction with the Electronic Musicians E letter. They delayed the posting of it by two days, so that is why we decided to extend the closing date from June 30th, to the end of the day on July 1st, to give more time to those who just got the EM letter.

We appoligize for the delay, but it was out of our control. In either case, you are still free to sign up and be eligible for this contest. Then you will be automatically entered in the next one which starts next week.

Hey, isn't this suppose to be a spam free bbs... I mean there aren't very many "Home Recording BBS Rules", but spam is at the top of the list. I hate spam... I didn't like it when we had to eat it as kids either. :D

PS... 10-4 on using the search engine. :) And your right... this forum isn't a Studio Projects help desk, tech support, or what Alan like's using it for the most... a PMI spam bulletin board.

For the sake of discussion and just to prove once again (as if most people don't already know) what a twit DJL can be, I read the first 3 supposedly "SP problem" threads that he so kindly posted links to..........NONE of those 3 appears to be a direct SP problem.

Most of the others don't have direct problems either.

OK, Here you go. This is a logical and beneficial point to stop sniping! The appropriate wounds exist on both sides. Can I be bought with gveaway gear? Sure. Go Alan. Let's see, another drawn out namecalling fest? You can both stop now-here, or continue this boring psycho-vignette. Please stop.
It hasn't even been established that the $89 mic is defective, although it may very well be. I agree that this is a stupid place to hash out service issues. DJL, your cheap, sleazy, underhanded, backbiting smear campaign smacks of paranoia and verges on major psychiatric disorder. You need to go talk to a human instead of a computer. I say this because you might actually be a very good AE. And yes, I continue to agree with you when I think you are right, which is not that much, lately. And Alan? You're mostly guilty of biting on his bait every time. Yes, I know you feel this righteous need to not stand silent in the face not only of slander, but insinuations presented as honest speculation. There comes a time when you let go of that, because the insinuator is obsessed, and possibly mad as a hatter. Just say no, and go to some other thread.
I can state with great certainty that if the guy's mic is defective, it will be promptly repaired or replaced. Ignore the fight, it's old and someday someone will be banned over it. For now best of luck-Richie

The sad thing is, the people at SP are geniunely nice, and extremely helpful. Even when they don't have to be. Off hand I can't think of too many companies that interested in maximizing the customer's enjoyment of a given product. This includes companies selling items costing $1,000's. The people at SP have been happy to answer the most obtuse questions from someone who'd only purchased $80. worth of merchandise (me)! However lacking in substance or integrity, it's still too bad the slightest hint of a potential problem with an SP mic turns into a blatant attempt to trash them.

Ritchie, you're right.

I've had enough fun here; time to go sew chaos on another thread.

I know I haven't been a member for very long, and I don't want to step on any toes here since this board is one of the greatest resources I have ever found (especially Harvey's stuff), but this constant arguing confuses me. I have visited many MB's and read many articles about mics. In my expirience (which is admittedly limited), I have yet to come across a bad review of an SP mic. Sure, some people may not love them, but nobody can say that they are bad mics, especially for their price point. This being said, I think it is a great advantage that we have someone like Alan as a regular at these boards. He is a great source for information on SP's products and a great industry insider on top of it. Am I going to ask him for an impartial review of his mics? No. If I need the answer to a specific question about an SP mic though....it's great to have him here. It's only natural for him to hype products that he's proud of. If you don't like it, ignore it. A little hype isn't going to hurt anyone if they do any research...buyer beware man. If it's a bad product I don't think people will buy it. Now don't get me wrong, people shouldn't come here with the intent to spam, but a little plug here and there is no big deal.

In other words, can't everybody just get along :p ?

You might actually be an ok AE too... but what does this have to do with sathyan's Studio Projects B1 problem, or me telling sathyan if he does a search on this mic bbs he would most likely find another thread with a similar Studio Projects problem and learn from it? Is HomeRecording.com a Studio Projects help desk, or tech support bbs, and how would you like your eggs with your PMI spam... overeasy or sunnyside up?

If that were true you would have let this thread die rather than posting a filthy message to me.
