Problem with softsynths in Sonar 3

Softsynths are new for me. My experience is mostly with extrenal modules and Sonar midi. I have several of them now including VSampler (from S3 Producer).

They all run fine in Sonar 2.2 but I get warbling and crackles in Sonar 3. I installed S3 on the same Pentium 4 1 gig ram Windows XP Pro machine (Audigy soundcard) with S2.2. So far none of the softsynths or soft samplers work right in S3. They all give a warbling sound. They work fine in S2.2.

Any idea what gives?

What's your setup?

have you run wave profiler? I know I had to do that myself even when I selected the option in install to incorporate my old Sonar 2 settings...
