I just picked up a Roland MKB300 that someone was selling on another board. Well, I didn't test it before I got it, stupid me.
Turns out some of the keys have issues.
1) While playing around middle C, a dissonant chord in the lower register is sounded. Sounds like a F/Gflat combo. I tried to pinpoint a specific key, but it just seems to be when I play anywhere in and around middle C.
2) Sometimes a key will hold as if on a sustain, there's no rhyme or reason to how hard or which key.
3) If anyone knows how a sustain pedal DOES work on this board, I'd love to hear it. I'm just using a standard Yamaha sustain, but it's not working. Perhaps it's incompatible?
Is there any possibility that the key issues might actually be midi conflicts? The board is from the mid 80s after all, and I'm just using a little M-Audio 1x1 USB port into my PowerBook G4...
If I can get the board working correctly, it will be perfect for what I need so I'd appreciate any insight. Also, if anyone has any tips on someone that can repair/clean up this board in a 200 mile radius of Buffalo, NY I'd love to hear it.
Thanks!
