i recently recorded some files onto my MR-8 and went to put them on Acid Pro 4. Everything was fine with the usb but when i saved the file(which worked perfectly fine on my acid pro) and then disconnected the USB cable, i realized later that it was saved onto acid pro but when i open it, it says media offline and will not play the tracks. Is there anyway i could recover the music from acid pro? Because I reformatted the card already and i need the music back.

Which Mr8 are you using. I have one of the old red ones and I had to download wavmanager to export from the mr8. I'd export from to my music folder where I would then import my audio to sequencer. You'd probably be better asking at the fostex forum.

btw-cursing usually doesn't help getting answered

If the media really only exists on the card and you wiped the card, you might be able to find software to unerase the card. Depends on how the software that initialized the card works. If it zeroed the FAT, you're pretty much screwed. If it just marked it as empty, the data might be recoverable.

The Program is looking for the original source that the audio came from.
(your MR-8)

When you saved it. You saved the project.
After opening the project with your MR-8 attached.
The media should show up instead of saying "Media Offline"

This also happens with cd drives/other.

If you were to "render" the project as a wav/mp3/whatever
Then you have audio.

If you look at what you saved - It probably has an .acd extension on it.

example: untitled.acd

Untitled.acd is just a project file.

differance between rendering and saving with acid

However, If you deleted what was on your MR-8

Acid will still (obviously) not be able to find the media.

Good luck
