Hi,

I imported a Midifile in my SONAR VS sequencer software. Usually i play all my Miditracks to my Roland Keyboard and then I can record the result to an Audiotrack through the Line-Out of the keyboard. This works fine.

However, now I want to record Miditrack 1 which contains the lead-instrument, to a separate Audio track using the Roland TTS-1 SoftSynth. I added a single TTS-1 Softsynth to my project and checked these settings : First Synth Audio Output + Synth Property Page.

Settings Midi-track 1:
Input: Alle inputs - Omni
Output: CakeWalk TTS-1 1 Channel 1, Bank: 154 (default) , Patch: Harmonica

Settings TTS-1 :
Input: All Inputs - Omni
Output : VS100 OUT 1-2 Channel: [None] , Bank: .. , Patch: [None]

Track TTS-1 'Armed' for recording

This happens :

Both Miditrack 1 and TTS-1 show an output signal and I can hear the lead instrument of track 1 play though my monitor speakers (the other instruments play over my keyboard).
Though nothing is recorded on the TTS-1! During recording the pointer moves over the track and shows a color but no signal is recorded.

I also tried to add a separate Audio track but then i either coudnt point the output to this track or coudnt arm the track or nothing was recorded.

Does anyone have a clue why this cant be recorded or how I can fix this?

Thanks in advance for your reply,

Valentino

This may not help as I have SONAR Producer 6 and not SONAR VS but I'm guessing that the basic functionality would be similar.

When I do this in Sonar 6, the TSS output track does not have a "R" button so I create a separate audio track (as you mentioned) and set the "input" of the audio track to the TSS output. At this point I am able to arm the audio track and record the TSS. This may be just semantics, but above you mentioned that you couldn't point the TSS output to the new audio track - did you try setting the input of the audio track to the TSS output (or is that what you were saying)?

Hello ErichS,

Thanks for your reply! In the meantime someone else told me that its not possible to record the Output of the TTS-1 directly and he told me to 'arm' the Midi track point its Output to the TTS-1, Record and then export the audio as a .WAV file. Finally this worked! But first I had to unplug my NanoKontrol2 controller. Isnt that strange, this device is not referred to in neither the Midi track and the TTS-1 track.
You wrote that you dont have an 'arm' button on the TTS, well on mine it shows one but its not usable. You also wrote that you are able to record the output from the TTS-1 to another Audio-track? I coudnt get this fixed because on the Audio track I coudnt select the TTS-1 output. So im still curious how you managed that. By the way, I have heard SONAR VS is based on the Sonar 8 Audio Engine).

Another thing, when I use an existing Midi-file whit a certain patch on the track and I connect it to the TTS-1 it may change. I wonder if there is a way to keep the original track-patch saved or unchanged when the track is linked to the TTS-1?
