Any critique is good guys, thanks.

There's one thing that might not even technically be a "mix" issue. I like the loud backing vocals...they're not backGROUND vocals, and they shouldn't be...but when they're that loud, they really need to sync up a little tighter to keep from cluttering up the water. More specifically, they're slightly behind the lead vocal (timewise) in quite a few places, and that may be a performance thing, or it may be intentional, but I'd like to hear them sync'd up more closely to keep from becoming an unnecessary distraction.
And dude, I'm nitpicking so obsessively to find anything that if I were you, I'd kinda' gloss over my post and respond with "thanks for listening" and ignore me, LOL.
Who's the band?

Very crowded sound. Nothing really sits well. You need to play a lot more with the levels. And the bottom is very undefined.

scrubs said:Interesting vibe. Sort of a Dave Matthews/Blues Traveler sound. Overall, I think it sounds great. However, I do agree with the poster who said the bass is undefined. When I stepped out of the room for a second, the bass was booming way too loud and is kind of flabby sounding through my sub. Maybe a tad more compression on the bass and kick.
Good work.
vilddyr said:If you're boosting a lot in the lows, try undoing that, end instead remove some nasty middle in stead. A lot of times when having a sloppy/undefined bottom, the problem is not with the sub levels (about 70 and below), but with the mids, fighting eachother. Try actually decreasing the sub on the bass, at the frequencies, where the Kick tends to wanna roam. Then remove som of the kicks middles( between 80 to 200) where the bass usually wnat to have it's way. These are not in anyway a model to mix from, and don't take the frequencies too serious. It can be very different from mix to mix. But you have to make room for things, and not crowd thing.
I tend to only boost 3-4 tracks on an entire tune. Best "advice" I ever read. "When looking a pro engineers mixing desk EQ's, you will find that the number of decreases, will heavily outnumber the increases." This is truly a way to get beter, and much more natural sounding mixes. Instead of boosting what sounds good, try removing what doesn't sound so good. Finding the right places and situations to add frequencies, is essential.
Don't be afraid of boosting where needed, but because most of us mix ITB, this is a VERY VERY important issue. Since boosting in software EQ's sound like crap. My Soundtracs MRX24 (mixing desk) EQ, will outpeform almost any software EQ, with few exceptions. Think about this when mixing.

I'm also in Portland, wondering who does the nice mastering in town. So what you posted is exactly what you sent to Freq?
I guess it's too late for critiques, but you could've moved the attack of the bkgrnd vox to match the lead, then time stretched to fill in the gaps. It's a pain in the ass, but it works.
I'd love to come check out your studio sometime.

I don't have any recommendations on it because it is far and above anything I have done.
