I currently have a Les Paul so that's what I'm used to. Now I'm looking at the Schecter guitars and see this funky way of terminating the string at the tail end. How does that work exactly? I wish there was a store around me that carried them so I could see for myself, but in lieu of that could someone explain it to me. Is it something to be concerned about? Like I said, it's probably a dumb question but I'm really curious.
 
What model are you refering to?
Could you be talking about a de-tuner?
 
Oh,..
Thats a "string through body" type tailpiece.
The sting gets inserted through the bottom of the guitar up to the top.
