Here's my setup: G4 Laptop 1.5ghz w/ 1 1/2 gigs of RAM, OSX 10.3.9 MBox w/ Pro Tools 6.4LE & Reason 3.0

When Reason is ReWired into Pro Tools I can barely make a move in Reason without Pro Tools giving up on me. "Increase buffer..." "Decrease buffer..." I've tried every conceivable (to me) option; CPU usage in both programs, buffer settings, etc.

Do I have enough RAM to run these two programs together? Is that the answer: buy another gig of RAM, so I have 2?

Let me know if I'm missing something–it is much appreciated!

I have no issues with 1 gig, so that probably isn't it. Have you tried playing with the DAE playback buffer settings as well as the H/W buffer settings? Carefully read the error messages, they tell you to adjust different things depending on the problem.

EDIT: Then again, I'm using WindowsXP and the "lite" version of Reason that came with protools.

I run reason 2.5 and PT 6.9.2 on a 1.25g Powerbook with 1.5g ram and 10,4,2 and have no problems at all.

Does Pro Tools behave well when you don't have Reason open?

Here's Digi's general setup and troubleshooting guide for OSX.

I also head over to the answerbase and do a search for the error code. Sometimes that pops up specific answers for wierd problems. For example, Palm software can cause the problem you are describing...

Good luck,
