Hey I'm new here, but I am in a band and I just recorded professionally with someone who uses Pro Tools HD Accel Digital Performer 3 (as listed on the website of the place we just recorded at) and he told me that he had to mix in real time. So we had to sit through the cd for him to mix down to a burnable format.

My question is that did he need to mix in real time, or is there a way to mix faster then second by second of every track?

i guess you're talking about bouncing the protools session contents down to a stereo wav file?

if so, yeah, this is real time only it protools...

and yeah, it's very very very annoying.

Yeah man it's the true. Pro Tools is real time for song bounces.

It is annoying but necessary for the big boys because outboard gear is usually involved and in order for that to go into the processing it needs to pass in real time through the hardware.
