I hope this is the correct forum for this....

Is the factory bundle worth it? I'm thinking of upgrading my old 001 to 002 and noticed that they are offering an 002 factory bundle for few hundred bucks more than the base 002.

personally, I don't think it's worth it, but if you look in this month's Musician's Friend, their bundling a couple mics with it. That might sweeten the deal a little. Have you found the digidesign page that spells out what plugs comes with what package?

Yeah, if you're planning on getting some other plugs then it's probably not worth it. Do they provide some plug-ins outside of the bundle anyway? I think so.

That deals does seem attractive. Those mics arent that bad too. I think these are the added plugins:
*Bomb Factory BF-3A
*moogerfooger Ring Modulator
*SansAmp PSA-1
*Tel-Ray Variable Delay
*Voce Spin
*Voce Chorus/Vibrato

Depends on what you're recording and style of music, but I don't think I'd end up using any of those plug-ins personally. The basic package comes with T-racks, some digi stuff, and Amplitube which I think are more useable than those you've listed.

Any thoughts how Digidesign's release cycle? i.e. 003 release or something?

I don't know if that's going to be anytime soon. The 002 is still competitive as far as technology goes, even the 001 is very much usable (although Digi dropped support for it in the new 6.7 release). My guess is that we won't see a new LE interface from them until there's a truely new development in audio or computers (i.e. firewire for 002).
