Hi,

I've recently started having an issue with my digi002 on protools le8.0.5.

My computer specs are: Imac, 1.83 Ghz intel core duo, 2gb ram, OS10.6.8

Basically I load up a session and things are working for about 2-3 minutes and then the signal from my instrument to the session is lost. If I go and make changes to buffer size cpu usage % it starts working again for a few minutes and then the signal is lost again.

This happens when I'm only using a single plug in (i.e. amplitube or Guitar rig) with one track so it should be working fine.

The digi002 rack seems to load up fine and all the lights are coming on as normal. I've changed the firewire ports and I've changed the firewire cable but it still happened as before.

Anyone have any idea why this might be happening as I'm a bit baffled at the moment?

Many thanks,

Dominic

Sorry, I'm no geek, but I own an 002, and your computer specs are marginal at best. The question is- did it work before, and now it doesn't, or has it done that since you hooked it up? If the former, deal with Digi tech support. If the latter- the same, but you may be due for a computer upgrade. Careful, though. Depending on how old the software is, it also has max limits, like it will work with up to 8gb of RAM, but will choke on numbers above that (weird- computers are all sorcery to me). Good luck.

Does the signal just drop, or does the digi actually drop connection?
Check audio/midi setup to see if it goes AWOL or not.

Thanks to both for the responses. The mac is pretty old but it should be able to run a session with one track and one plug in!

The signal goes completely (i.e. nothing coming from the guitar at all), I've checked the audio midi setup and the digi002 is there and says 18 ins and outs. However once the session is open and it loses connection this goes down to 0 ins and 0 outs.

As protools loads up it has also started saying 'protools hardware not installed or used by another programme'. I can reopen it fine after that but seems a bit odd.

Is it possibly a problem with the core audio manager? I've got version 8.0.5 and it does say 'not connected (HW not found).

Thanks again,

Dominic
