Hey all, I'm new to the board, and have loved everything I've read so far. You guys are great. I have a quick question regarding my pro tools set up if anyone is familiar. I recently purchased an MBox to do some recording with my laptop at home, and am trying to get a click track that I set up using an aux track to sound through my headphones. I've had no luck. I've tried the obvious like moving the mix control on the front of the console etc. I'm plugging in to the 1/8 inch mini in the front. Maybe it only comes through the 1/4" in the rear. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks! :)

the headphone jacks are the same signal on the front and back

setting up a click:
Create a mono aux track
Set the output to 1-2
Set the input to Mic/Line 1
Insert the click plugin on the track
Turn up the volume of the Aux track
Open up the transport window and double click the little metronome icon and make sure it's set up to play on Playback and Record
Close that window and make sure the metronome icon in the transport window is highlighted blue
Press play and you should hear it

Thanks for the help benny. One question however, by setting my input to line does that disable that as an input for later recording i.e. plugging in my condenser for vocals? Thanks!

you mean by setting the input in Pro Tools as Mic/Line??? No.
Setting the input in pro tools is just telling the software where to look for signal for that track. By Mic/Line it means Mic OR Line. Pro Tools doesn't care what type of signal comes into the computer...the only place that matters is on the hardware.

For some reason the click plugin will only work when an input is set to an available input device. Don't know why...but it works.
