Printing "problem", not really a problem...

Ok, the inserts and liners I printed late last week all bled after a while, making them difficult to read and basically nasty looking.

Oh well, I thought I could get away with just using regular cartridges for my printer, but I'm going to have to special order a photo cartridge. They're only like $4 more than regular cartridges, so it's just the fact that it'll be another couple more days until I get some good prints.

It's going well though, they look pretty nifty all assembled! I have high hopes that everyone will be pleased and proud of this project, despite all the BS.

You say the ink bled because you didn't buy photo-ink cartridges?

Not using an H/P I see. They'll bleed as well, but only if you spill that Budweiser all over them, or touch them before they dry. :)
 
I am using HP, but on some cool HP photo paper. Gotta use the photo cartridge with the concentrations of dark colors I'm using. It won't be a problem.

That's a surprise fer sure. I thought you hated those devices.

Photo paper requires a different cartridge? I just use different s/w settings to increase the dry time on the print cycle.
Same cartridge. Works great.

Geez-that stuff is like a buck a sheet! That's $4 per set!

I'm excited again. Even the drstawl custom burns don't use that shit.
 
Not that anyone asked,...

but I used all Hammermill Cover Stock/65lb/Cream [colored] paper, and my 'normal' print cartridges, HP 51649 [3-color] and HP 51629 [black], printing on my 'normal' printer, an HP Deskjet 670C.

Again, I know you didn't ask, but after printing 800+ cards, with half the cards double-printed, I'll assure you, that I went through several print cartridges/each, of black & color, and several reams of paper, which come 125 sheets per pack, during the 9+ month run of my cd project.

Good luck with final touches and fab of the HRcom Comp CD. I hope it comes out well, and is released soon./DA
 
Doc, I'm getting HP high gloss double sided photo paper for $12 per 50 sheets. It's really not so expensive all things considered.

Yes, the 600 series HP deskjet printers allow you to install "photo" cartridges that put out considerably higher quality graphics and much better color matching. We've printed photos with them in the past, and from about 6-12" you can't tell that they're not real photos. Pretty good. Only $32 a cartridge which isn't much more than the $28 for a black and $32 for standard tricolor.

I ran into that problem when I told my HP 972 (or somesuch) to print "best" and "on HP photopaper."

It looked like shit, and the darks overbled.

So, I just put photopaper in there and printed at default settings... VIOLA! Perfect.

You might wanna try that... also didn't have to do the special ink...
