What do you guys think of the PreSonus TUBEPre Microphone Preamp. I see it's on sale at musiciansfriend ( http://www.musiciansfriend.com/srs7...94878609/g=rec/search/detail/base_pid/184125/ )for like $100 and has 2 inputs/outputs and phase reversal. The price sounds good, and I was under the impression they made pretty good stuff.

I've got an older M-Audio Audio Buddy that sounds similar and (I think to my untrained ears sounds fine), but I'm always looking to get a better sound if possible.

Any other feedback or advice? :p

Get a DMP3 if you can find one. You will thank me later. I guarantee it.

I'd get the DMP3. The TubePre doesn't sound "good" and it doesn't sound "bad, in a good way" like the ART can.

No-one here is much of a Presonus fan I've noticed. I have an MP20 that sounds pretty good - can't help you with your particular query though.

If you get one don't get the 2 channel unit. It only has 1 tube in it for the 2 channels.

I have 2 of the other units and they are OK, and 1 of the 2 channel unit that I use it only for phantom power.

Those cheap mic pres, sounds really good on drum kits in my opinion, However I notice someone recommended a DMP3 and I have that mic pre, I think that works great for hip-hop vocals you do get a clean sound, you might want to try a Studio Projects VTB-1, I have that also for rock vocals it gives a raunchy/ distorted sound if I push it. It all depends on your budget, a matter of fact what is your budget?
