Presonus Firepod ,MacBook and Cubase

anyone useing same things?
8 channels simultaneoulsy.
Mac is 1.83 GHz Intel Core Duo with 1Gb 677 MHz DDR2 SDRAM
how would it work together?

I've just bought all those bits, I'll report back when they arrive, but as far as I can tell from a lot of scouring of the internet, they should all work together.

On the Presonus website one of their recommended manufacturers is Apple, and there are no reported conflicts with any of the Macbook hardware so I'm guessing it will be fine.

Make sure you download the latest control panel and applications off the Presonus web site. I'd install them first, then hook up the Firepod. As far as I know, you don't need to install any drivers because those are built into the Mac OS. Go into the Audio/Midi control panel in your Mac and select the Firepod as your audio device (once you've hooked it up). It should just work.

can I send different monitor mixes to each FirePod output channel?

and I am bit attempted to spend little more ( actually quite much more ) and get a FireStudio for the 0 latenzy monitoring and ADAT. can I use FaderPort with StudioPort?

Yes you can use your daw software's output routing to send tracks or submixes to any of the 8 outs.

it seems to be possible to stack two (or three) firepods togehter via firewire
is someone useing that.
it would give me 16 inputs and 8 outs ,right?

now,is that more demanding and stressing for the computer then one firepod or for example firestudio with digimax fs pre conected via ADAT.

Much more taxing, I'd imagine. I know that one FIREPOD by itself is more taxing on the CPU than two MOTU 8Pres stacked via ADAT in my experience, so I'd imagine two FIREPODs would be even worse.

Okay, so in all fairness, on the Intel Macs with the new AppleFireWireAVC, the FIREPOD probably isn't as bad, but even with the improved drivers, the rest of the Presonus experience is just so much lousier than the MOTU experience that I would strongly MOTU gear over the FIREPOD. It's just a much better experience all around---particularly if your hardware breaks.

Currently I'm using 2 Firepods stacked with Samplitude Software on a duo Centrino CPU and have no problems with CPU lag. Love the firepods by the way.
