I bought a second Firepod for a large project (hopefully to record 16 tracks simultaneously). My computer can't handle the load anyway, so I need to sell the extra. It is in perfect condition with all original box/manuals and even cubase LE. These sell on musicians friend for $599.99, but make me an offer and I will definatly consider it.

Thanks

Brandon

Sorry, I forgot to add that I am including a free external 80 gig firewire hard drive.

I don't get it...what, do you have a Pentium I PC? My 2 GHz Celeron barely registers any CPU activity when record 8 simultaneous tracks in Sonar. So what's the real reason you're trying to get rid of it?

Thanks,
jawgee

I have a 867 MHz Powerbook G4 that is maxed out on RAM, and it simply cant process more than 8 tracks. Again, the unit is in excellent condition, and I will guarantee it or your money back. I'm not sure why you think otherwise.

Thanks,
Brandon

Not questioning your integrity at all. I just found it curious to think that someone would be running a PC with less than a 1GHz processor in it while spending $1200 on audio interfaces. Any new budget PC laptop (~$500) should be able run two Firepods simultaneously. But since you mentioned the "MAC" word, I totally understand now. :D

Thanks,

that is dependent on so many different things its almost funny. Not to mention it is more of an issue of RAM than processor speed. Just think of running a machine with 256MB DDR; 16 tracks all at once. If you think you can do so without the audio engine dropping out, good luck.

That's kind of sad. I could do 30-ish tracks playback with effects, recording 8 tracks on a 400 MHz G4 desktop with a fairly lousy DAW. You must be running into hard drive speed issues on the laptop or something similarly weird.

I can't really test out your theory, but I've recorded 8 tracks at once using 256MB SDRAM & a 2 GHz Celeron without a problem.

Well, he was packaging an external firewire HD with the Firepod, so I wouldn't think there'd be a problem with hard drive speed issues. Presonus recommends a 1.5GHz processor. I'm guessing that's a Pentium processor. Not sure how that translates to the Mac world.

I think alot of it has to do with adding effects and VST instruments. I could barely playback 16 tracks, it usually bogs this system down. Ive seen two firepods run on a G5 recording about 12 tracks with no problems, my machine began to snap crackel and pop

Also, i never used the external hard drive. Could have been a Cubase thing

This idiot has posted the identical text above in half a dozen posts. I'm not sure if he/she is a scam artist or is simply lacking a few brain cells too many, but under no circumstances should you do business with this clown.

Here's why:

We have a new thief, I give you Maurolin (from forums.bimmerforums.com)

Same state, same name. It looks like he's changed from car parts to audio gear. Be afraid. I've already reported him to Dragon.
