Hi,
I use Adobe Audition 1.5 to make my music and now I've just got this Presonus Firebox going with my AT4040 and my question is:

I've got the feedback coming into my headphones, but When I record how do I let the music go in my headphones also instead of it playing through the speakers? AND also, why's it so quiet when I record? I have to like normalize to 80% or something for me to see some kind of action going. or else it just looks like gravelled lines. Is there anyway to fix this too?

Thanks

What recording software are you using? You might have input monitoring on or something if you're getting feedback in the headphones.

Turn down the main level volume knob so you don't hear the speakers...just have the headphone volume knob up.

What mic do you use to record? A condenser mic will need you to engage the 12db + software vol boost. You can find this by clicking in the Firebox icon near your clock on your computer screen. Set it to +12db.

The Firebox is a bit quiet...but you can still get solid volumes from it for acoustic stuff like vocals and acoustic guitar if you use the +12db on condenser mics. You'd probably have to up the gain knob a fair way too. Don't forget to have the 48V button engaged too.

keep on truckin

Alright, well now I'm using the AA 3 (just upgraded cuz 1.5 didn't have that 'Audio Hardware Setup ...' on the Edit tab, couldn't find it atleast) so i am getting feedback in my headphones now which I'm happy.

And my gain for my mic is slight past the 3'o clock. Yeah, I'm starting to hear it a bit louder now. Ugh, and I even have it on the -10db on the mic. I'll take that off.

Still it is sort of quiet though. But I guess I'll just have to knob it up more then. I'll pm you if I have any more questions so far it's ok now :D

Oh, I'm using AT4040 xD. Thanks alot !
