I've had my Presonus Firebox for close to a year now. This thing is bulletproof. I will probably step up to a Firepod next. I'm also liking the $99.00 Tubepre (presonus) for a bit of color. It's also a great DI. For my current budget, the Presonus equipment has been wonderful. Here's my latest track Click here to listen (still needs final mixing and mastering..I may change a few things later). I used the Firebox into an iBook using Logic 7. My plugs include SampleTank, EXS24, Amplitube, and other Logic synths. Yamaha electronic Stage Piano (patched actual built in "grand piano" sound thru the Firebox built- in pre's). Gibson ES-125 archtop electric (DI thru tubepre). I also used the Yamaha as a Midi controler. Drums on demand and Apple loops. I hope you like.

I agree, the firebox is an impressive "little" piece of gear, I have been using mine for about 4 months trouble free.

Even if I step up to expensive conveters/pres< I will keep this Firebox for Portable applications.

I wish I could daisy chain another Firebox. You can combine the Firepods..but Firebox you cant at this time

Presonus FireStudio is coming out soon with a MAP of around $999. It's basically a Firepod with an updated look and 8 channels of lightpipe. I'm pretty stoked about it.

The firestudio does look interesting. I wish I had endless amounts of cash

I emailed Presonus and the guy said they were working on it. You can chain a couple of Firepods so what is so hard about getting the Firebox to work like this. Even the Inspire can be chained together.
I even told the guy that I promise to buy another Firebox if the can make it work. :D

What do you do for work? What I plan on doing is buyng up a lot of equipment and reselling it. I used to buy laptops for 100 bucks fix em up and sell them for 3 or 400 to pay for my gear lust. I hate useing my work money for gear. Also I play shows and use that money for gear too. I am a farrier and its prett profiltable... but I consider that REAL WORLD MONEY. Most of my audio money comes from stuff on the side. Sometimes I use some of my real world money.

I have a firepod and will sell that for like 4-500 when the firestudios come out and hopefully will make enough money on the side to get the firestudio. I do have 2 firepods, but one has to go back to presonus, they sent me a new one on good faith, so i have to send the other one back this week. I just wanted to try diasy chaining them.. I havent been getting good results.. but i have a slow computer.

They are a great company, and are good to me.. Otherwise I wouldnt consider a firestudio. But how can I not with great customer support and such a great peice of gear!!
