Preparing for mastering

if you're dealing with this caliber i'd ask your label how they are dealing with the mastering guy...or if they are making requests on the level...

Ultimately it's their album. I have about 500 pages of contracts that drives that point home.:D I'm just making sure that I am doing everything in my power to deliver the product at the highest caliber, and in a way that is EASIEST for the ME.

I was gonna say

True, but turning them DOWN would have actually taken 15 seconds.:D Again, its just paranoia on my part but I turned in the levels really low and got them back really low. If it truely does not matter (as long as it is not clipping) then I am going to turn them in considerably higher but still in the zone. Even if they do nothing, I end up with a louder record than last time.

i'd ask them to have the mastering guy turn it up then. is that an option for ya? It sounds like you're blaming something you did...and trying to correct for it...when that has nothing to do with it...or shouldn't... particularly with sterling.

if they can get 500 pages of contract to ya...i'll be they understand the concept of a 'competitive sounding' cd so they can pay for the lawyer who wrote em!

good luck regardless...sounds like a drag.

leave them with a single square wave that runs at 0dB...You'll love it.

Yeah, I think these guys will be just fine, I have gotten over my paranoia and can relax.:)
