Preparing an avatar.

When the time comes, how do you prep an image to be a custom.

Are there size and color depth limits?

Obviously folks can use gifs, are jpgs allowed?



Are the images uploaded somewhere or do you just supply a pointer?

If my memory serves me correctly, size limit is 60x60 pixels. I think jpegs can be used. Do a search on the net for a jpg or gif editor (cruncher) that will allow you to take your image, resize it and save it to your hard drive.
